About Me

Hello, and welcome to DutchGeek.com.

I’m Robin Bouwhuis, and I write DutchGeek.com.  My goal is to help people make tech and computers easier for other people to use and understand.  I plan to add information about tips and tricks for software, and general computer use.  I’ll add tutorials, and guides as well, so you can make your computing experience a little easier.

I started DutchGeek.com in 2009, however; I have been a geek and enthusiast of computers since I was a child.  My first computer was a TRS-80, but I quickly got into the world of IBM PC’s shortly after.  At 16 I was running a BBS (Bulletin Board Service) and doing consulting for local businesses, so they to could establish a presence in the online community.

Currently, I am a Senior Systems Administrator for a company that has operations all around the world.  This experience has helped me to be able to explain problems that users have in a way that everyone can understand.  That’s the most important aspect of my experience,  being able to clearly convey a tech message to a non-technical audience.

Having 10+ years of  “work” experience, and an education in Mechanical Engineering, has helped me to experience a broad array of issues, and ways to resolve them.  My background in Engineering has also helped in understanding gadgets, how they are made and how to get the most out of them.

Feel free to ask questions, or offer suggestions for content that you would like to see added.  I will do my best to post up explanations for you.
